Pearcedale Netball Club (PNC) respects your privacy and is committed to the protection of your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act).
PNC requires every player, coach and umpire to register with Netball Victoria. PNC bases its Privacy Policy on the requirements outlined by Netball Victoria. This Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and store your personal information. It also describes how you may access your personal information, how you may request your personal information be amended, and how you can lodge a complaint in relation to how your personal information is being managed.
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identifiable individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The information or opinion does not have to be true or recorded in a material form.
● contact information such as phone numbers, postal address, emergency contact details, email address
● date of birth and gender
● medical history and health information
● emergency contact information
● details of netball associations that you have participated in, and organizations with which you have participated
● copies of communications between you and us
● other personal information provided voluntarily by you, for example, information provided in response to surveys and/or questionnaires
● Working with Children Checks (WWCC) when you volunteer with PNC
● Online store purchases you make for uniforms and/or merchandise
● favorite netball club, membership history and other related information; and/or
● other personal information that is relevant to the conduct of our legitimate activities and/or interaction with our website.
Personal information is collected via Netball Connect (Netball Victoria’s technical platform) upon registration and/or may also be collected when you interact with us via email or our website. This information may be used by PNC for the following purposes:
● confirm member’s registration details recorded with Netball Victoria
● gain consent for the use of images for promotional or other purposes
● gain agreement of all players, coaches and umpires that they will abide by our ‘Code of Conduct’ and other PNC policies
● Club specific information distribution such as registration and team details, key dates, correspondence, and any information needing to be shared from PNC
● provide coaches, committee members and team managers with player lists to enable the coach to communicate efficiently with the team
● provide relevant information to the appropriate people to enable PNC to provide the functions necessary to fulfil its obligations to teams, umpires and associates in line with the charter of PNC
● provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, warrant, in the course of a legal proceeding or in response to a law enforcement agency request.
PNC may at times also receive personal information from third parties. If we do, we will protect it as set out in this Privacy Policy. All personal information collected will not be disclosed to any parties outside of Australia by PNC.
When you register with PNC via Netball Connect, the system may publish results, statistics, ladders and competition management for netball competitions, and that the following information concerning individual players is publicly available and/or fully searchable:
● player ID number
● first name and last name
● participating clubs, associations and competitions
● grade, season, round, date and match details
● fixtures, including dates, times, venues and opponents, and playing statistics
We may collect personal information regarding a child under 18 years of age and certain other persons from a parent, legal guardian or ‘responsible person’. Please do not provide personal information to us about a child or another person unless you are authorized to do so by law. If you are under 18 years of age and you provide us with your personal information, your parent or legal guardian will need to approve the provision of your personal information to us on your behalf.
Personal information may be collected digitally or in paper-based documents and converted to electronic form for use or storage (with the original paper-based documents either archived or securely destroyed).
The security of personal information is important to us and we use physical security and other measures to ensure that personal information is protected from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorized access, modification and disclosure. Personal information held in paper-based form is securely stored.
We maintain computer and network security by using firewalls, user identifiers and passwords to control access to our Online Systems. Online purchases made via our Online Systems use encryption methods and credit card data is stored using systems compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We also take steps to destroy or de-identify information that we no longer require. In some cases, there are statutory requirements for retaining information for a prescribed period of time.
When considering new initiatives and projects, we always ensure that privacy considerations are taken into account.
Personal information that is collected by PNC is destroyed/deleted once it is no longer required.

A small administrative fee may be payable for the provision of information. PNC reserves the right to refuse to provide the information we hold about you, in certain circumstances set out in the Privacy Act.

The Club may modify this Policy at any time, at their discretion, and all modifications will be effective immediately upon our posting of the modifications on the website or notice board.
