Pearcedale Netball Club

Coaching Tips from Netball Australia

Want to be a Coach?

Coaches are such an important part of our teams. Some people choose to coach to help out their child’s team, others see it as a way of giving back to a Club that they’ve been a part of for a while. Whatever your reason, know that we’ll provide you with the support and resources you need to guide your team to success.

Requirements:

  • Understand your requirements as a coach as set out in the Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • Netball Victoria Membership (NVM): All coaches need to have current NVM. If you don’t currently have NVM you will need to obtain one.
  • You may require a Working With Children’s certificate (WWC). Email the club with your Working With Children’s certificate number if you have one or go to http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au to complete an application. Please note that children under 18 years of age are exempt from requiring a WWC.
  • We also require a criminal declaration to be completed as part of our child safety protocol.
  • Coaches must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Younger coaches are permitted as assistant coaches if the main coach is over 16 years of age. Ideally, pairing of an experienced coach, or parent of a player with younger coaches is recommended.
  • All coaches must undertake the required training provided by the club.
  • The coaches bag and it’s contents are the responsibility of the coach.
